The skipper
Paul Davies is a commercial fisherman and an ANSA Master Angler. He has been trading as Davies Fisheries since 2015, and in 2023 he put the charter side under its own name: Southern Eyre Fishing Charters.
That means the day is run by someone who knows where the fish are sitting, not someone reading a chart for the first time. Guests say he works hard to keep everyone fishing, teaches you what you need to know along the way, and always has a yarn on the go.

The Sir Joseph Banks Group
It isn't only about the fish. Out around the islands you share the water with sea lion colonies and big seabirds, and on the right day there's a chance to get in with them.

Two ways to fish it
Inshore
The bread and butter of a day with Paul. King George Whiting in crystal clear water, trevally and salmon mixed in, and a feed of squid before heading home. Plenty of crews catch their first ever George out here.
Offshore
Jaguar is a 7.2m Hydrofield hardtop on twin Yamahas, rigged with a rocket launcher full of rods, so heading wider is part of the program. Ask Paul what's running when you book and he'll tell you straight.
